Perfecting Your Personal Rebrand
Over the past few months, I decided to do a personal rebrand. I’m turning 30 this year, after all. It just seems like the right time. And not just a surface-level aesthetic change, but a full audit of my life, habits, style, and mindset. If you're thinking about reinventing yourself or just fine-tuning your identity, I hope sharing my process will give you some ideas and encouragement!
Let’s dive in.
First: The Right Mindset
Before even thinking about a personal rebrand, you have to come at it from a place of self-love, not self-hate. You can’t bully or shame yourself into becoming a better version of you - trust me, I tried, for years. It doesn't work and only leads to more frustration and sadness.
A personal rebrand should feel exciting. It should be about leveling up because you want to, not because you feel frustrated with yourself or "not enough."
If you're in a place where you're still working through heavy feelings, I gently recommend focusing on healing first. Then when you're ready, the rebrand becomes a fun, empowering project, not a punishment.
Why I Decided to Rebrand
For me, this rebrand wasn’t about becoming someone new. It was about evolving. I realized I had been living inside the same comfort zones for years. The same style, same routines, same patterns. I was happy, but also feeling stagnant.
I wanted my outside to better reflect who I’ve been becoming inside: more confident, creative, and unapologetic. I also wanted to be more intentional with my online presence (hello, future content plans!) and build a brand that feels authentically me.
Step 1: Reflect and Audit
Before you start changing anything, you need to know where you are.
Here are the questions I asked myself:
What do I like about my style, habits, and online presence right now?
What feels outdated, uninspiring, or no longer aligned with who I am?
What aesthetics, styles, and vibes am I naturally drawn to?
What parts of my current life need a refresh to match my future goals?
I recommend actually writing your answers down. I used Canva to create a fun deck with images, colors, and notes. You could also simply write in a journal if that feels better.
This phase might take weeks or even months. That’s normal. Think of it like a life audit, not a rush job.
Step 2: Get Inspired
Next, I made a big Pinterest board filled with styles, aesthetics, colors, and energy that felt like “future me.” I also studied creators and brands I admire and asked myself:
Why do I like them?
What consistent themes do they have?
What about their brand feels authentic and memorable?
If you’re stuck, start noticing patterns. Maybe you’re drawn to minimalism, bold colors, edgy looks, softer aesthetics - whatever it is, let it guide you.
Step 3: Make It Realistic
Your rebrand has to be sustainable.
For example, I love the look of daily high-fashion outfit posts on Instagram. But realistically, I don't have time (or endless closets) to shoot those every day. Instead, I realized that makeup content is something I can consistently create. It fits my life and my skills.
Your rebrand should fit your real life, not an imaginary one. Otherwise, it will burn you out quickly.
Step 4: Design Your Personal Brand
Once you have your inspiration and realistic goals, it's time to actually design your new vibe.
I created a mini brand guide for myself, including:
Color palettes that suit my aesthetic (and even personal color analysis)
Fonts I like for my visuals
Key themes I want to focus on (makeup, hair, fashion, travel)
A visual vibe for my social media
This sounds extra, but it genuinely helped me stay focused and avoid randomly posting everything under the sun.
Step 5: Understand It Takes Time
One of the biggest lessons I've learned: personal rebrands (and brand growth) take WAY longer than you think.
Even massive brands and creators that feel "new" have been working consistently behind the scenes for years. Things that feel like an overnight success often aren’t.
Give yourself at least six months to a year of consistently living your new brand before judging whether it’s working. Patience is part of the process.
Step 6: Align Habits With Goals
Your habits build your identity.
As part of my rebrand, I’ve also been working on:
Being more intentional with my health and fitness goals
Building consistency into my social media strategy
Setting up routines that support my creative energy
Allowing myself to change my physical appearance with things like piercings and eventually more tattoos, and fully embracing the aesthetic I love
All of these things align with the vision I have for myself, and that's what keeps me motivated.
Final Thoughts
If you're feeling the desire to evolve - whether in your personal life, online presence, or both - know that it's completely valid and exciting. You’re allowed to change. You're allowed to grow. You’re allowed to experiment.
Take your time, have fun with it, and build a brand (and a life) that feels truly you.
You've got this. 💛
